Even though the Disinformation Governance Board is officially on โpause,โ the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remains committed to its vision.
DHS has announced that two officials have been assigned to find out how the board became โgrossly and intentionally mischaracterized.โ
The two people chosen to get the ball rolling again are President Bush's DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff and President Clinton's U.S. Deputy Secretary General Jamie Gorelick.
Chertoff co-authored the USA PATRIOT Act.
The Daily Caller reports:
The review of the Disinformation Governance Board will determine how the board can monitor disinformation while โprotecting free speech, civil rights, civil liberties and privacyโ and how it can increase โtransparencyโ with the public. It will be conducted by the โbipartisan Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC).โ

โThe creation of the โDisinformation Governance Board' in the Secretary's office is unneeded and politicizes the Department's mission. There is no operational reason to take this responsibility from largely non-political operating components and move this mission to the Secretary's office filled with political appointees, including a politically charged individual with no government experience. The move represents a further politicization of the Department under this Administration,โ Chad Wolf, former acting secretary of theย DHS,ย toldย the Daily Caller.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkasย admittedย that there was โno questionโ that they โcould've done a better job at communicatingโ what the board does when it was announced.
The rollout of the board was โhalf-bakedโ and that the DHS gotย โaheadย ofย themselves when they mentioned it inโ DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' testimony April 27, a congressional stafferย toldย the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The latest development in the newly created disinformation board comes one day after Nina Jankowicz's resignation. Jankowicz, the board's first executive director, repeatedly used social media to spread fictitious narratives about the Steele dossier and Hunter Biden's laptop.
Congressional Republicans fiercely criticized Jankowicz's past and the board's apparent threat to the First Amendment.
Despite DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' claims the disinformation board wouldn't monitor American citizens, the departmental group continues to generate controversy.

The Democrats intensely hate the Constitution and embrace the authoritarian state. They are destroying the USA. Never trust Democrats with political power or authority in any public institution . . . including schools.
Isn’t this just a different way to silence Conservatives? How long will it be before the first amendment
is canceled for everyone that disagrees with those that are in power? After that or a part will be called
hate speech, not allowed. And your religion will not allowed to be spoken or written to anyone.
What other liberties will be taken away?
democRATS & Biden Administration out to waste more taxpayer money on this stupid Disinformation Boad !!!
For starter, let Chertoff and Gorelick write a factual report on the physical and mental disabilities that account for the existence of a human body known as Alejandro Mayorkas as the main cause of his repeated statements “THE BORDER IS CLOSED.” Mayorkas, I am assuming, knows that a border between Mexico and United States of America was obliterated on January 20, 2017, when Joe Biden made sure that the most intelligent man Joe ever met never has to suffer for wanting drugs like the babies in the US are about to suffer for Baby Formula. This compassionate leader made sure that he provided the LAST MILE for criminals of all sorts – traffickers, rapists, pedophiles.
As far as Joe is concerned, he has not visited the border because in his mind the border does not exist, and thus there is no crisis.
CHERTOFF AND GORELICK PERHAPS JUST TOOK ON THE TOUGHEST JOB OF THEIR LIFE – BE HONEST IN WASHINGTON, DC.
