New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) has signed a series of new gun control bills into law for his 8.9 million constituents. (RELATED: Prominent Democrat Says Only One Group Should Have Guns)
Murphy has devoted much of his five years in office to gun reform. The governor said to CNN before today's signing ceremony, โMore guns on the street is not the answer.โ He continued, โWe have in New Jersey among the strongest gun safety laws in America. We're not immune by any means, but we have among the fewest gun crimes of any American state.โ (RELATED: Breaking Down Mass Public Shooting Data From 1998 Through 2022)
Murphy also responded to the reaction to the Supreme Court's ruling on Roe v. Wade.
NJ.com has more on how the new laws will restrict law-abiding New Jerseyans:
Under the measures, New Jersey will mandate people receive firearm training to get a gun permit, ban .50 caliber rifles, stipulate new residents coming from other states register firearms, require micro-stamping technology, regulate handgun ammunition, crack down on ghost guns, and make it easier to sue gun manufacturers and dealers over gun crimes in the state.
โฆ
This is the third package of gun reforms Murphy and the Democratic-controlled state Legislature have enacted since the governor took office in 2018 in New Jersey, home to some of the nation's strongest firearm laws.
Murphyย repeatedly urgedย the Legislature to pass the measures for more than a year, saying they will make the state safer and help reduce gun violence. Lawmakers ultimatelyย passed the bills last Wednesday, mostly along party lines, before breaking for the summer.
Opponents argue the measures will simply punish law-abiding gun owners and be ignored by criminals, especially because firearms flowing in from out of state are used in most gun crimes here.
Murphy, meanwhile, called the laws' passage more urgent than ever after Supreme Court found neighboring New York's โmay issueโ provisions for concealed carry permits to be an unconstitutional violation of Second Amendment rights. Observers believe Murphy is already auditioning for the 2024 presidential campaign.

“. . . shall not be infringed.” No one seems to care what that phrase MEANS.
They always seem to cite Australia for their success in banning guns. But in case you missed it, Australia government were the ones rounding up citizens against their will and throwing them into Covid camps. NEVER forget that
I canโt wait. Last time somebody tried this type of stunt. It cost them dearly. Schittcago did similar action. They had to pay $2.3 million in fines, and $1.5 million to the American hero NRA for legal fees.
Citizens should be able to sue the president, the governor, the mayorโฆevery person involved in illegal sanctuary when an illegal kills or maims an American.
Murphy is a first class idiot. He may be the single worst Dem governor out there but he seems to fly under the radar somewhat. With this cluster that he just signed, I’m sure his stupidity will manifest itself to many more of the citizenry.

Your vote for a democrat is a vote against yourself.
It’s the Peoples Republik of NJ. Who gives a fk?
None of New Jersey’s new gun laws will do anything at all to stop criminals. When was the last time you heard of a thug who didn’t go out with his gang to kill the rival gang members – just because he was waiting for the result of his background check? How utterly naive to think that someone willing to commit murder will reconsider because he doesn’t want to violate a gun law.
