A tweet shared earlier this week by the New York Police Department (NYPD) in New York City's 72nd Precinct is gaining significant traction on social media Tuesday. The department, which has jurisdiction over several city blocks in the borough of Brooklyn celebrated confiscating several guns over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The four guns featured included one real pistol that shoots actual bullets as well as three water guns.
With the exception of the pistol, the other three confiscated โgunsโ can all be purchased on Amazon.
The top โweaponโ appears to be a water blaster similar to this โ albeit in a different colorway โ which retails for $65.99. According to the blaster's product description, โthe gel ball blaster G36 features 2 modes: Manual/Safe mode โ pull the handle for launching 1 gel bead per trigger, and Fully Automatic โ hold the trigger for continuous launch about 6 gel beads.โ
The middle โweaponโ appears to be a SplatRball SRB1200 which retails for $96.00 and boasts an โauto fire rateโ of โ11 rounds per secondโ as well as a rechargeable battery that โsends ammo 210 fps downrange.โ
The final โweaponโ appears to be a SplatRball SRB400-SUB Gel Ball Water Bead Blaster Gun which retails for $79.99, has a full auto fire rate of 8 rounds per second and a 400-round magazine. This model also has a rechargeable battery that โsends ammo 200 fps downrange.โ
The 72nd Precinct Division's post also garnered attention from several prominent conservatives, who commented on the incident.
