Are Arizona Republicans in for a shock this November?
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report has just shifted the Arizona Senate race from a โtoss-upโ to โlean Democrat.โ
Senate and governors editor, Jessica Taylor said in her explanation of the move that the Arizona Senate race may be the best example of Democrats being in a strong position to hold the Senate, according to The Hill.
The race between incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly (D) and Blake Masters (R) has been contentious so far but Taylor noted she believes Democrats are more willing to pour support into Kelly's campaign found as opposed to Republicans.
Taylor noted Kelly had raised $54 million for his campaign and still had almost $25 million left as of the middle of July, while Masters had raised just less than $5 million during the cycle.ย
ย โIt is clear that major outside groups are focusing their manpower elsewhere,โ Taylor noted.
Recently, a Super PAC associated with Senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell pulled a $9.6 million ad-by for Masters after previously canceling an $8 million ad-buy for the Republican candidate.
The Arizona Senate race is expected to be one of the key contests that could decide control of the upper chamber. (RELATED: Can Republicans Retake the Senate? Here's Where Things Stand)
Taylor said Cook recently observed a focus group with likely Arizona voters who voted for former Presidentย Trumpย in 2016 and President Biden in 2020. All of them were unhappy with Biden, and most voted in the Republican primary for Senate this year, but 7 out of 9 said they would vote for Kelly over Masters if the election was held today.ย
One participant described Masters as โdangerousโ to Arizona like Trump was toward the end of his term, while another said, โWe've reached double digits of questionable things the guy's said.โย
The most recent poll by the Trafalgar Group reported Kelly with a two-point lead over his Republican challenger.

How flagrant can the people of Arizona get! I guess they are finally COMFORTABLE with their living conditions. Human nature. It’s way too much to consider the truth and changes of it all!
I have never understood why anyone who wants their elected representatives to be fiscally responsible and frugal would vote for the politician who spends the most money toward getting elected and who constantly sends out pleas for even more money.
If Blake Masters can stay within 2 or 3 percentage points of Mark Kelly while apparently spending far less (the article doesn’t say how much he has spent) than the $29M spent by Kelly so far, and if you want Congress to spend less of your hard-earned tax money, why would you vote for somebody who spends donated dollars like water? Not to mention the fact that everyone already knows that Kelly is anti-2nd Amendment. Come on, Arizona! Open your eyes and vote Kelly out!
“The most recent poll by theย Trafalgar Groupย reported Kelly with a two-point lead over his Republican challenger.” A two-point lead in most polls translates to about a five-point lead by the Republican challenger. Keep the faith, Arizona Republicans, but you must get out and vote. Beware again that the Dems will manufacture mythical ballots and double-count for the Dem as they did in 2020. Arizona election politics are some of the most corrupt in the nation.
I’d be fascinated to know what part of my post below American Liberty found so questionable as to put it on the “Awaiting for approval” list. Could it be the statement by me that I don’t trust Arizona election politics?
republicans need to check for fraud and cheating it happened in 2020 and biden was installed Arizona has a problem with the dems cheating
I believe this ‘lean democrat’ story is an effort to set the narrative for which democrats will steal this seat.and others. Dems are getting out ahead of the story, so when they claim victory people will more readily except their selection for senator.
