Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson was admitted to the hospital Sunday evening.
Rep. Hinson's chief of staff, Jimmy Peacock shared on her Twitter that the Congresswoman is beating treated for a kidney infection but did not share any timeline in regard to her return to her Congressional duties.
Hinson, a first-term representative on Capitol Hill and rising star in conservative politics, is running for reelection against Democrat Iowa state Sen. Liz Mathis. ย
Hinson, who currently represents the state's 1stย congressional district, is running against Mathis for Iowa's new 2ndย congressional district.
Rep. Hinson is reportedly slated to participate in a live debate against Mathis Tuesday evening but it's not clear if the Congresswoman will be released from the hospital in time.ย
Despite being in a competitive House race, Hinson is expected to easily cruise to victory according to election forecasters at FiveThirtyEight.
During a recent campaign stop, Mathis was confronted over her more liberal views concerning gender in the state's education system.
Throughout the meet and greet the Democrat candidate was asked about Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation process when she was asked โwhat is a woman?โ
Mathis said: โThe Supreme Court confirmation process is very thorough, so they had to ask questions like that to a Supreme Court justice.โ
โI'm glad that she answered that question,โ she added. โThat's a tough question.โ
According to Fox News, the Democrat was also asked to comment on the state's education systems which currently allow the school to assist students as young as seventh grade with a โgender support planโ and aid with the student's gender transition.
โParents can always go to teachers and ask questions. They can always go to the principal and the superintendent of schools to ask questions,โ Mathis claimed, proceeding to defend the current policies in the district. โWe know the policy of Linn-Mar schoolsโฆ that the school board passed is aligned with the code in Iowa law. It's about reducing discrimination, or eliminating discrimination and harassment for children.โ
Refusing to denounce the school district's policies, Mathis, who currently serves as a state senator in Iowa, told the crowd, โYou have an opportunity in all of your schools to vote for a school board member and that's what we should be concentrating onโฆ voting the people in that you feel will do the best for our children.โ

Is she a RINO
Whenever a healthy Republican or prominent conservative takes ill or dies suddenly, I get suspicious and dig deeper to see if Leftist foul play is involved. The number of such cases among Republicans is much more than among Democrats. The threats from the Left, the behavior of the DOJ/FBI, and the subornation of violence by Democratic leaders, including the President, make skepticism a rational default response to stories of this type.
I hope Rep. Hinson gets well soon, returns to the campaign trail soon, and incorporates good security practices into her personal and political life.
