The United States has accelerated the fielding of a more accurate version of its mainstay nuclear bomb to NATO bases in Europe, according to a U.S. diplomatic cable and two people familiar with the issue. Arctic chill: Sanctions biting Chinese-Russian energy initiatives, IC-sponsored report says. Western sanctions targeting Russia after its invasion of Ukraine have put a damper on joint Russian-Chinese energy projects in the Arctic, according to a new report sponsored by US military intelligence.
Harden the cybersecurity of US nuclear complex now. Deterrence is only as good as it is credible. Given Vladimir Putin's reckless talk about his potential use of Russian nuclear weapons, the United States must ensure its own nuclear stockpile is safe, secure, and reliable.

CHINA THREAT
Blinken says China rejects status quo of Taiwan situation. China has decided the status quo of Taiwan's situation is no longer acceptable and has begun to ratchet up pressure on the self-governing island, including holding out the possibility of using force, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday. China says willing to communicate with US military but โred lines' should be respected. China attaches great importance to Sino-U.S. military relations and is willing to see China and the U.S. have military communications but โred linesโ remain, a Chinese defense ministry spokesman said on Thursday.
RUSSIA THREAT โ UKRAINE WAR

Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 246. Ukrainian troops are holding out against repeated attacks near the two eastern towns of Avdiivka and Bakhmut in the Donbas region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, describing the Russian tactics as โcrazyโ as the war in Ukraine dragged into a ninth month of fighting.
Russia is reportedly trying to recruit US-trained former Afghan commandos to fight in Ukraine. Many Afghan commandos fled the country after the Taliban took power and are reportedly now in Iran, Turkey, and elsewhere.
European allies worry US could dial back support for Ukraine. โIf America starts to blink, other nations might as well,โ one British member of Parliament said of the possibility of the U.S. cutting aid to Ukraine.
Russia's chaotic draft leaves some out in cold, without gear. Since Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial troop mobilization for the war in Ukraine, independent media outlets, human rights activists and draftees themselves have painted a bleak picture.
IRAN THREAT
Iran Is now at war with Ukraine. Tehran has taken its fight against the West to Europe. For the first time, Iran is involved in a major war on the European continent. Iranian military advisors, most likely members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, are on the ground in occupied Ukraine. 15 killed, 40 injured in terrorist attack claimed by ISIS in Iran. At least 15 people were killed and 40 others were injured Wednesday in a โterrorist attackโ at the Shahcheragh Shrine in the city of Shiraz, southern Iran, according to state-run media and Iranian officials.
INTERNATIONAL SECURITY
One of the world's deadliest conflicts is reaching a tipping point. One of the world's worst humanitarian crises has escalated dramatically over the past two months โ but has received scant attention from the international community. In Ethiopia's northern Tigray region, where federal forces have been battling regional rebels, the resumption of fighting has resulted in civilian casualties, the destruction of critical infrastructure and the displacement of tens of thousands of people since August.
