ANALYSIS – Earlier, I wrote about the nearly one dozen highly classified intelligence documents found in November in the closet of a private office used by Joe Biden after he left the White House as vice president for President Obama.
The office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., was used by the then ex-VP in relation to his almost nonexistent role as an honorary professor.
Of course, the establishment news media has done all it can to minimize the fallout and downplay the severity of Biden's reckless actions.
But as I noted, some of the documents found in that closet were classified Top Secret/SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) which require extraordinary security measures since they pertain to intelligence sources and methods.
SCI materials should only be viewed, read or otherwise used inside a secure Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). (RELATED: More Classified Documents Found at Biden's Delaware Home – Special Counsel Investigating)
Some of the documents found at Trump's Mar-a-Lago home were also reportedly classified as Top Secret/SCI, though some may just have been unclassified cover sheets used to identify these documents.
And Biden was highly critical of former President Trump after FBI agents seized scores of classified documents from his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida last August. (RELATED: Judge Unseals Mar-a-Lago Search Warrant – Trump Under Criminal Investigation)
In September, Biden told “60 Minutes”: “How could that possibly happen? How anyone could be that irresponsible, and I thought what data was in there that would maybe compromise sources and methods?”
He added: it is “just … totally irresponsible.”
In response to questions about his own unsecured, highly classified intelligence materials asked during a press briefing in Mexico City Wednesday, Biden said he was ‘surprised' they were taken from the White House and didn't know what was in them.
Fox News reported him saying: “I was briefed about this discovery and surprised to learn that there were any government records that were taken there to that office.”
The president added: “But I don't know what's in the documents. My lawyers have not suggested I ask what documents they were.”
Well, to help out Joe Biden, here is what has been uncovered about those documents so far.
The highly classified intelligence memos and briefing materials included materials on Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom.
The documents, dated between 2013 and 2016, were found in boxes along with personal Biden family papers.
A CNN source said the attorney who found them while he was moving the boxes from the office closet opened an envelope marked as Biden's personal documents and found the classified documents inside.
Of course, the FBI hasn't given the media any incriminating photos of Biden's classified documents strewn about the floor like they did with those found at Mar-a-Lago, but it will be nice to know more about these sensitive intelligence materials.
As was done in the Trump case, Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, in a letter to Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Avril Haines on Tuesday, requested that the intelligence community (IC) conduct a damage assessment of the documents, reports The Washington Post.
In his request, Turner said that by keeping the documents, Biden is in “potential violation of laws protecting national security, including the Espionage Act and Presidential Records Act.”
The next question is, like in Trump's case, will the FBI now raid Biden's home in Delaware or maybe even the White House, looking for more Biden improprieties?
