New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced that she would not seek re-election and will be stepping down next month.
According to reports from BBC, the Prime Minister shared the shocking news at herย Labor party's annual caucus meeting, saying she โno longer had enough in the tankโ to do the job.ย
โI'm leaving, because with such a privileged role comes responsibility,โ she said. โThe responsibility to know when you are the right person to lead and also when you are not. I know what this job takes. And I know that I no longer have enough in the tank to do it justice. It's that simple.โ
โI hope I leave New Zealanders with a belief that you can be kind, but strong, empathetic but decisive, optimistic but focused. And that you can be your own kind of leader โ one who knows when it's time to go,โ she said, according to the Guardian.ย
As Fox News reports:
Ardern became prime minister in 2017 and led New Zealand through a period of major incidents, including the COVID-19 pandemic and anย attack on two mosquesย in Christchurch in which 51 people were killed. During the pandemic, she imposed some of the strictest lockdown rules in the world.
In August 2021, the country wasย put on lockdownย for at least three days after a single case of the coronavirus was found in one community.ย
In December, she was caught on a hot mic calling opposition leader David Seymour an โarrogant pโ-โ during an exchange in which Seymour asked if Ardern could โgive an example of her making a mistake, apologizing for it properly and fixing it,โ The Guardian reported.ย
Ardern replied by acknowledging the difficulties of her government'sย โmanaged isolationโ plan for COVID-19, but she told her deputy, Grant Robertson, that Seymour was โsuch an arrogant pโ-โ as she sat down โ the microphones caught the comment.ย
Ardern became prime minister in 2017 and is the country's youngest leader in its history.

Flakes live in New Zealand too I guess. She was just there long enough to tip the scales to the left, confiscate their guns, be the first prime minister to have a baby in office (I think), and not one mention of doing the will of the people, just leading them over the cliff. Oh, yeah, good riddance.
Harris should take the hint
Maybe Covid JOE COULD FOLLOW HER LEAD,
She NEVER had anything in the “tank”.
When you disarm people no one can protect themselves! Duh!!!
Curious how many rats are leaving politics after theyโve imposed their tyranny on so many people.
No matter, Iโm sure the WEF and pompous windbags at Davos have a nice cushy, well paying position, a hearty slap on the back and a โwell done mateโfor her stripping New Zealanders of most of their fundamental rights.
A day of reckoning will come!
Maybe she will now have time to get her teeth fixed!
She said then that Govt is the sole “truth” source during pandemic
See Dennis Prager, Prager U
They know they are running out of time. Their evil plans are about to all come crashing down!
Please take Kamala! We sure as hell don’t want her here!
Good riddance to that catastrophic leftist totalitarian and all like her that seek to exert their own personal narcissistic will above all others in the phony interest ot the ‘PUBLIC GOOD.’ Translation: ‘You will do as I tell you or you will suffer!. I outgrew that infantile mindsel six decades ago.
