Is Democrat darling Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) planning to pursue higher office in the not-so-distant future?
The progressive Democrat Rep. was modest when she was recently asked by Politico if she plans to challenge Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand for one of New York's Senate seats.
According to Fox News, when AOC was asked about the possibility of a future Senate run, she replied, โdon't ask me that question,โ before telling the publication to โprint thatโ response.ย
Gillibrand is up for re-election in 2024.
In January, Ocasio-Cortez ascended to the No. 2 seat for Democrats on the influential House Oversight Committee, causing a definite shift in tone after previously criticizing party leadership.
AOC has previously stopped short of outwardly endorsing President Biden's second term. (Related: House Democrat Joins Call to Oust Party Leadership)
โI think if the president has a vision, then that's something certainly we're all willing to entertain and examine when the time comes,โย AOCย told Dana Bash last June.
โI โฆ own that I was very critical of our party's leadership,โย Ocasio-Cortez told the outlet.
However, despite her new leadership role and recently winning re-election, the progressive Democrat revealed she was open to seeking higher office or potentially leaving Congress entirely.
โThere's a world where I'm here for a long time in this seat, in this position. There's a world where I'm not an elected official anymore. There's a world whereโฆ I may be in higher office,โ she said to the outlet.
The far-left Democrat has been encouraged in some circles to seek higher office, some have even floated her as a future White House contender.

Hate to say it, but no one would notice any change other than AOCs Harpy like screech drowns out Sillibrand’s.
Both are spectacularly BAD.
Cancer to society
AOC, the rabid socialist publicity hound, is an overambitious, undertalented, anti-American communist.
Good to see Dem civil war
Watch the Left devour each other!
As much as I have a low opinion of Gillibrand, I would gladly vote for her over AOC. She does not belong in government in any form.
