ANALYSIS – You would think the secretary of defense banning all politicized events on military bases would have sent a message.
Maybe the Supreme Court's ruling last week against discrimination (aka ‘diversity' and ‘inclusion' via Affirmative Action) might also have been a strong reminder. (RELATED: House GOP Targets Anti-Christian Military Lobbying Group)
And the Navy was on the right track when it quickly removed a rainbow-themed social media post celebrating June as Pride Month.
But, apparently, the Navy, and one admiral, still haven't gotten the memo.
We need to focus on recruiting and training proud American patriots and warfighters, not needlessly emphasizing the sexual orientation or gender identity of a small number of soldiers.
Today, LGBT is predominantly about the ‘T' or transgender. But the spotlight on diversity ignores the armed forces' future warfighting capabilities. And at a time when recruitment numbers are declining, and the prospect of a major war with China is rising.
According to a study on transgender military service in the United States, 0.6% of adults who've served in the U.S. Armed Forces identify as transgender.
Yet the disproportionate focus continues, as American Military News reported:
A video released by the U.S. Navy, which featured Rear Adm. Mike Brown promoting the Navy's inclusion of LGBTQ+ members, resulted in significant backlash on social media over the weekend.
In the Navy's promotional video on Instagram, Brown said it is “wonderful” that the Navy has made policy changes that allow LGBTQ+ members of the military to “serve openly and actively” while striving to “give their best self every day” for the Navy.
While the Navy has implemented policies and procedures that reflect the military's recent push for the LGBTQ+ agenda, Brown said there currently are still “barriers” that prevent “total inclusion” in the Navy.
While some users expressed approval, a strong majority expressed concern about America's military readiness.
“How about you focus on training the best and most skilled soldiers in the world,” one likely Army veteran user asked.
Another user noted what I keep repeating, especially as a major (primarily naval) war with China looms over the horizon, “Let's see how our woke military responds to the requirement of force projection when the fight starts. This is NOT who we are at all.” (RELATED: Devastating US War With China Over Taiwan Coming Soon – But When?)
Others warned that the U.S. would lose if World War III broke out “tomorrow,” some noting that China and Russia are “laughing at us” thanks to our increasing politicization.
But maybe one user summarized it best: “This is the beginning of the end for the United States.”
