U.S. House leaders are formally demanding sworn testimony from Secret Service agents and over a dozen senior government officials amid allegations that President Joe Biden's middle-aged son Hunter Biden was tipped off about several criminal investigations against him.
U.S. House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) sent written notice to leaders at the U.S. Department of Justice, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and U.S. Secret Service (USSS) to โmake over a dozen employees available for transcribed interviews who possess information concerning allegations of politicization and misconduct at their agencies with respect to the investigation of Hunter Biden,โ the lawmakers report.
โThe federal government is supposed to work for the American people, but whistleblower evidence shows that several federal employees were working overtime to cover up for the Bidens. We need to hear from these federal employees and other witnesses about this weaponization of federal law enforcement power. Americans are counting on us to ensure bad actors are held accountable and restore the equal enforcement of the law,โ said Comer, Jordan, and Smith.
โFrom recent testimony before the Ways and Means Committee, IRS whistleblowers revealed extensive politicization and misconduct at the Department of Justice and IRS during the investigation into Hunter Biden. According to whistleblower testimony, the Justice Department refused to follow evidence that implicated Joe Biden; tipped off Hunter Biden's attorneys, the Secret Service, and Biden transition team; allowed the clock to run out with respect to certain charges; and put tax-cheat Hunter Biden on the path towards a sweetheart plea deal,โ the lawmakers report.
