Dr. Anthony Fauci floated reintroducing COVID restrictions, including lockdowns, yesterday even as he acknowledged the latest variant set to hit the U.S. is less severe than Omicron. (RELATED: The Omicron Conjecture)
โWe can't just say we're done, now we're going to move on. We've got to be able to be flexible because we're dealing with a dynamic situation,โ America's most famous health official told CNN's Jake Tapper.

Fauci's cautiousness over easing restrictions follows Trump White House COVID advisor Dr. Scott Atlas calling him โwrongโ and โa failureโ in a Fox News appearance Thursday night.
Fauci stubbornly, for most Republicans, remains the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and a close advisor to President Biden. (RELATED: Meet the Republicans Who Voted Against Ousting Fauci)
The Daily Mail further reports:
Fauci added that the variant, which has seen a spike in the UK, could cause a surge in the U.S. as it appears to be as infectious as Omicron, but less fatal.
โThe overall mortality is actually down,'ย Fauci said. โIt's a very interesting situation where the cases are going up, but it does not, at this point in time, appear to be any degree of severity.'
โWe generally follow what goes on the UK by about two to three weeks,' he added.ย โI would not be surprised in the next few weeks, given the fact that we've begun to open up, and we have an increase in the BA.2 variant, that we'll be seeing an increase in cases.'
The warning came as COVID restrictions have been lifted all across the country amid a sharp drop in daily cases after the Omicron surge earlier this year.
Where Things Stand
Even cities with the most dramatic restrictions, New York, Chicago and San Francisco recently scrapped their vaccine and masking mandates. (RELATED: England Poised to Become Latest Country to Remove All COVID Restrictions)
The percent of U.S. citizens fully vaccinated ranges from 51% in Alabama, Mississippi and Wyoming to 81% in Rhode Island.

Both Trump and Biden made the wrong call in delegating policy on Covid-19 to Fauci and his consorts in CDC, NIAID, and FDA. Their failed advice and methods for coming up with this bad advice cost this country dearly. In the case of Trump, their bad advice cost Trump the election, his many successes steering the economy and foreign policy notwithstanding. I personally will not vote for anyone running for Congress or the presidency who does not have a sound plan for totally reorganizing our federal health agencies and holding accountable employees of those agencies who have engaged in corrupt practices and illegal collusion with the pharmaceutical, medical, chemical, agricultural and media industries. The billions of tax dollars spent on these agencies hasn’t made the country healthier but instead has lined the pockets of powerful companies with the most effective lobbyists.
Somebody should mandate that this guy retire or lock him down so he never rears his traitorous head again. No one should ever write an article about him again unless it is to announce his retirement.
