Nice try, Fettermanโฆ
After a week of backlash, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution late Wednesday formalizing business attire as the proper dress code while on the floor of the chamber.
The new written rules include a coat, tie, and slacks for men. The resolution does not detail dress codes for women members.ย
The bipartisan bill by Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) andย Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) requires that members abide by a dress when on the Senate floor.ย
The dress code clarification came after Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.y.) last week quietly relaxed dress requirements to allow Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) to wear athletic attire.
In his remarks Wednesdayย Schumer said thatย an official dress code is โthe right path forward.โ
โThough we've never had an official dress code, the events over the past week have made us all feel as though formalizing one is the right path forward,โ Schumer said. โI deeply appreciate Senator Fetterman working with me to come to an agreement that we all find acceptable, and of course I appreciate Sen. Manchin and Sen. Romney's leadership on this issue.โ
Following the vote, Fetterman's office released a brief statement that included a viral meme photograph of the actor Kevin James sheepishly shrugging.

Nice chicken *&^# move not putting in a women’s dress code. Since they can’t define what a woman is, how could they state how a woman should dress? Knowing this, I’m waiting for the ladies there who like to cause trouble to start wearing beachwear, lounge wear, or pajama sets. Perhaps they should form their own committee to come up with some rules … that should take a couple years.
So glad this has happened. Old Schumer had no right to try to take the dress code away. Fetterman should never have been allowed to wear hoodies & shorts to the Senate & he should not be in the senate
So all you Senators have to dress up like a MONKEY to make yourselves feel good? Sounds like a mental issue to me.
Actually not an accomplishment as it should never had to be asked – Fetterman should have been sent home to appear decent or stay home. That was the dress code to begin with !
Iโve got my first check for a total of thirteen thousand US dollars. I am so energized, this is whenever I first really acquired something. I will work much harder now and I can hardly hang tight for the following week’s installment. Go to the Home tab for more detail. I highly recommend everyone to apply.. wยญwยญw.Pยญaยญyยญaยญtยญhยญoยญmยญeยญ7.cยญoยญm
Is Schumer really this stupid. How could anyone believe this was a good idea?
Mocking disabled Americans like this is a stupid idea.
Schumer is not a leader in any sense of the word. Instead of standing up to the goofball who attends Senate meetings in his “lounge around the house” attire, he caves and tries to make the entire Senate change to accomadate the slob goofball. What a loser.
Why were Schumer, Fetterman, et al, allowed to mock disabled Americans in the first place?
