Israel is at war.
A series of sweeping, deadly and coordinated attacks by Hamas laid siege to Israel over the weekend, the likes of which the country hasn't seen in over 50 years.
The death toll has soared to well over 1,000, with 700 Israelis and at least nine Americans deceased.
Over several weeks, Iran reportedly helped organize the reign of terror through its proxy, Hamas. According to reports, the Palestinian militant group received the final go-ahead from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to launch its unprecedented strike last week.
The situation as of Monday morning remains tense and fluid. The prospect of a broader war remains a distinct possibility if direct involvement from Tehran is confirmed.
Despite the ongoing violence representing the greatest threat to Israeli sovereignty in at least 50 years, members of the Squad released statements criticizing the Middle East's sole democracy.
One Democrat publicly rebuked their comments, calling them โrepulsiveโ while noting that Saturday represented the โlargest single-day mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust.โ
Mediaite explains:
Rep.ย Ritchie Torresย slammed fellow Democratsย Cori Bushย andย Rashida Tlaibย over โreprehensible and repulsiveโ comments they made on the current conflict in Israel.
Hamasย launched one of the deadliest attacks on Israel in decades on Saturday, a day after the anniversary of the Yom Kippur war and on a Jewish holiday, killing and kidnapping civilians, launching missile attacks, and committing an outright terror attack on a musical festival.
Tlaib, Bush and Ilhan Omar have come under fire repeatedly for accusations of anti-Semitism. Last September, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee condemned Tlaib for claiming that individuals โcannot claim to hold progressive values, yet back Israel's apartheid government.โ
As the conflict unfolded over the weekend, Rep. Tlaib issued a statement referring to Israel as an โapartheid governmentโ that created the โsufferingโ which led to the โresistanceโ by Hamas. Tlaib demanded the United States stop providing billions in โunconditional fundingโ to the key ally, and Rep. Bush released similar comments demanding the U.S. stop supporting Israel.

Fellow Democrat Torres decried those characterizations and victim-blaming, and called for even more support of Israel by the United States.
โU.S. aid to Israel is and should be unconditional, and never more so than in this moment of critical need,โ the California Democrat told a reporter. โCongress must act decisively to provide Israel with whatever it needs to defend itself in the face of unprecedented terrorism.โ

Let me suggest that anybody who has a “not negative” view of Hamas, read their founding documents. As far as I know almost all organizations, even the Nazis i Germany have positive reasons for existing. So does cancer. In the case of a cancer cell, its purpose is to make more of itself. Hamas has one purpose, according to its founding documents. It exists to kill Jews.
In less than 5 years, the Gaza Strip will have been absorbed into Israel proper. For those who support Hamas. Well maybe someone will kill you ๐
