Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan won the Republican nomination to become the next Speaker of the House on Friday.
Jordan, currently chair of the House Judiciary Committee, earned 124 votes to win the nomination over Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga).ย
Scott mounted a last-minute bid against the Ohio Congressman Friday afternoon shortly before the vote. (RELATED: Underdog Candidate Jumps Into Speaker's Contest)
โI don't necessarily want to be the speaker of the House. I want a House that functions correctly, but the House is not functioning correctly right now,โ he said.
Scott told reporters he had โno intentionโ of running for Speaker this morning.
โI care more about the conference and that it's doing our job than I care about who the Speaker is. I truly do,โ Scott said. โWhen I woke up this morning I had no intention of doing this.โ
โI believe is if we asย Republicansย are gonna be the majority, we have to do the right things the right way. And we're not doing that right now,โ he later added.

It would be nice if we had someone in office who did their job. Jim Jordan is a great and honest man. Now, if we could get rid of the Rinos. Beware Rinos. I have a list of you useless POS and I distribute it regularly. They need to be gotten rid of.
