A coalition of Republican hardliners aligned with House Democrats to vote down a stopgap funding bill on Friday, significantly increasing the chances of a government shutdown. San Fransisco Mayor London Breed (D) unveiled a controversial proposal Tuesday to require anyone receiving welfare to comply with mandatory drug testing and treatment programs as the city struggles to get a handle on its drug and homelessness issues. It’s confirmed… The Wisconsin Department of Corrections acquiesced to the demands of a prisoner convicted of raping their 10-year-old daughter. Mark Campbell, 52, is now incarcerated at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, a women’s prison one hour north of Milwaukee. Campbell, who weighs 225 pounds, identifies and lives as a female. Karma has come for a convicted murderer suspected of killing at least 28 elderly women in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A fellow inmate murdered Billy Chemirmir, an illegal immigrant from Kenya, at a Texas prison earlier this week. Prosecutors alleged Chemirmir posed as a medical professional or maintenance man to gain access to his victims’ homes before suffocating them. He was eventually convicted in the death of 87-year-old Mary Brooks in October 2022.
