An iconic game show that survived both the breakdown of the network era and the rise of streaming services may soon be coming to an end. At least as we know it. That’s according to Pat Sajak himself, who told “Entertainment Tonight” that his time hosting “Wheel of Fortune” will soon be at an end. Though he hinted he’s willing to do one more season of spins. Fox News reports: “Years go by fast. We’re getting near the end. It’s been a long [time]. We’re not going to do this for another 40 years. The end is near,” the TV…

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles has denied George Floyd a posthumous pardon for a 2004 drug conviction spurred on by a now-indicted Houston police officer. The unexpected u-turn comes one year after the same parole board voted to unanimously recommend Floyd’s pardon. Floyd rose to national prominence after his death at the hands of Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin. The board did not explain its decision in a letter to a Houston-area public defender representing Floyd’s surviving family members. A new court filing from the special counsel chosen to review the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation contains another, shall we say, interesting revelation. The FBI turned Igor Danchenko, the source behind the largely discredited Steele Dossier, into a paid informant for two-and-a-half years. The Reactionary, on Substack, first reported on the latest John Durham shocker and what it means going forward: But we’ll start with the most damning development: Danchenko was on the FBI payroll as a confidential human source (CHS) from March 2017 through October 2020. The purposes of making Danchenko a CHS should be quite clear. The Crossfire…

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has introduced legislation that, if signed into law, would ban abortions nationwide after 15 weeks. The proposal, while moderate compared to efforts by some Republican state legislatures, is the most prominent effort by the GOP to restrict abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. https://twitter.com/GeoffRBennett/status/1569651353458282501 The Washington Post reports: “I think we should havea law at the federal level that would say, after 15 weeks, no abortion on demand except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother,” Graham said at a news conference. “And that should be where…

Lawyers for former President Donald Trump have urged a federal judge to shoot down the Justice Department’s request to keep reviewing documents seized during the search of Mar-a-Lago as part of its criminal investigation. Per The New York Times: Renewing their request for an expansive independent review of records seized from Mr. Trump, the former president’s legal team argued that seized records marked as classified should remain off limits to the F.B.I. and prosecutors. They asked the judge, Aileen M. Cannon, to maintain her order barring agents from using any of the materials taken from his estate, Mar-a-Lago, until a…

Judge Aileen Cannon has ordered the Justice Department to temporarily halt its investigation of materials seized by the FBI during its search of Mar-a-Lago until a special master can review them. A special master is an independent third party, typically an attorney, appointed by the judge to review evidence seized in order to determine if anything taken into custody is protected, either by attorney-client privilege or in this case, executive privilege, as former President Trump has recently claimed. In her ruling, Cannon said that given the extraordinary circumstances of the case the need to guarantee “the appearance of fairness and integrity”…

Organ transplants are a marvel of modern medicine. Doctors should adhere to the highest ethical guidelines to procure organs and find a suitable match. However, standards in China are decidedly lower. According to recent reporting, China’s thriving transplant program, worth an estimated $1 billion a year, is bolstered by forced organ harvesting from marginalized groups — sometimes while the donor is still alive. As RealClearPolitics reports: Though China announced that it banned this hideous practice in 2015, transparency is lacking and mounting evidence indicates that it continues. Nevertheless, the American transplant sector, while adhering to medical ethics at home, openly…
