Legendary comedian Gilbert Gottfried has died after quietly battling a long illness, according to a statement from his family. In an interview with The Washington Post, Gottfried’s publicist said he died due to complications from muscular dystrophy. A judge has issued the first outright acquittal of a Jan. 6 riot defendant who argued police officers let him enter the U.S. Capitol Building. Judge Trevor McFadden acquitted New Mexico engineer Matthew Martin on all charges following a two-day bench trial. McFadden said that based on video evidence, Martin’s claims were plausible.
