ANALYSIS – ‘MURDER, INC.’ – Falling or jumping from high-rise buildings is a growing death of choice among Russian oligarchs and other elites. But dying in more mundane ways, such as being stabbed or shot, is also becoming popular. Since Vladimir Putin – a former KGB officer – invaded Ukraine just over a year ago, dozens of high-profile Russians have died or been killed mysteriously. The long list of deaths ranges from oligarchs to scientists, even generals. In December 2022, The Atlantic labeled the phenomenon “Sudden Russian Death Syndrome.” Putin has been killing opponents and dissidents for some time, and…

ALERT – In yet another glaring example of Joe Biden’s failed immigration and border policies, a mob of several hundred illegal migrants, mostly Venezuelan, attempted to storm the U.S. border checkpoint in El Paso, Texas, on Sunday. Customs and Border Patrol (CPB) said in a statement that the aggressive mob, some estimated at over 1,000, made a formation and approached the U.S. checkpoint at El Paso, “posing a potential threat to make a mass entry.” https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1635038593990410240?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1635038593990410240%7Ctwgr%5E95eba3c6d78a7cc2037465cd5d2de65e5ba52a8e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ksat.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2F2023%2F03%2F13%2Fhundreds-of-migrants-storm-border-entry-point-in-el-paso-prompting-standoff-with-border-patrol%2F As a result, the primary Paso Del Norte International Bridge was temporarily closed when CBP officers “implemented port hardening measures” at the bridge. Two other bridges in El…

MONDAY PDB – PAUL’S DAILY BRIEFING – China’s neighbors seek expanded partnerships with US to deter, defend. The Pentagon’s efforts to improve U.S. force posture in the Pacific have yielded a flurry of major agreements in recent months, with allies motivated by China’s aggressive behavior to embrace the U.S. US forces, allies, trained in the jungle and assaulted beaches in Thailand in a massive exercise. The recent multiple US exercises with partner nations in the Pacific have served two purposes: practical training and to send a message to nations such as China and North Korea. The latest one, Cobra Gold 23, just wrapped…

ANALYSIS – When word leaked in 2022 that former President Donald Trump had asked advisors about using U.S. military force against drug cartel labs in Mexico, the anti-Trump media and defense intelligentsia went into a tizzy. They went apoplectic again when Trump, in January of this year, declared that if reelected, he would “order the Department of Defense to make appropriate use of special forces, cyber warfare, and other overt and covert actions to inflict maximum damage on cartel leadership, infrastructure, and operations.” Now with Joe Biden’s border in chaos, 100,000 Americans dead from fentanyl overdoses, and the most recent kidnap and…

FRIDAY PDB – Pentagon UFO chief says alien mothership in our solar system possible. There is a possibility that extraterrestrial motherships and smaller probes may be visiting planets in our solar system, the head of the Pentagon’s unidentified aerial phenomena research office noted in a report draft shared Tuesday. “[A]n artificial interstellar object could potentially be a parent craft that releases many small probes during its close passage to Earth, an operational construct not too dissimilar from NASA missions,” Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, wrote in a research report co-authored by Abraham Loeb, chairman of Harvard University’s astronomy department. The…

ANALYSIS – According to multiple news sources, based on Ukrainian government statements, Russia launched a massive barrage of missiles and rockets Thursday at targets across Ukraine. The 81-missile bombardment reportedly included a rare volley of six ‘unstoppable’ and nuclear-capable, Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. The Kinzhal “dagger” missiles can travel at five times the speed of sound and carry nuclear warheads. As part of the attack, Russia also included eight Iranian Shahed suicide drones. Politico reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces Chief claimed that in addition to the six Kinzhals, Russia fired: 28 X 101/X-555 missiles, 20 new Kalibr cruise missiles, six X-22 missiles, eight aviation missiles and 13 C-300…

THURSDAY PDB – OF COURSE, WE ARE! – We may already be in a Cold War with China. Although bilateral trade with China in 2022 increased to a record $690.6 billion, bilateral relations deteriorated to their lowest level since the normalization of relations in 1979. One could argue that we’ve entered a Cold War with China. CHINA IS PREPARING FOR WAR – The US-China rift is only growing wider. After President Xi Jinping accused the United States of seeking to contain, encircle and suppress his country, his foreign minister warned that conflict could be inevitable. MEANWHILE – Chinese actions in South America pose risks to…

ANALYSIS – Tucker’s misguided attempt to use cherry-picked moments of the newly released video of Jan. 6 to argue that nothing bad happened at the Capitol that day is horribly timed and very dumb. As I wrote the day after I personally observed events at the Capitol that day, January 6 was neither a deadly coup/insurrection — nor peaceful guided tours of the Capitol. It was a mixture of some of those things, none of those things and everything in between. And Tucker would have been far more effective and credible had he used the video to show that the…

WEDNESDAY PDB – Back in 2019, after the killing of nine Americans by drug traffickers, President Trump repeatedly asked his advisors if he could launch missile strikes or send special forces into Mexico to destroy cartel drug labs. In January 2023, Trump vowed that if elected again as commander-in-chief, he would deploy U.S. special forces and other military assets to ‘inflict maximum damage’ on cartels. Well, now with news of an increasingly corrupt Mexican military and the death of more Americans in Mexico, at least one senior U.S. senator is proposing the same thing. Graham says he will introduce bill to ‘set…

ANALYSIS – It isn’t news that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has proven to be vulnerable to political pressure. Just look at the threat assessments produced in 2020 that single out ‘white supremacists’ as the ‘most lethal domestic terror threat’ in the U.S., despite their numbers being minuscule. According to that report, self-described ‘white supremacists’ were responsible for 49 homicides in 26 attacks spread across more than a decade and a half – from 2000 to 2016. Yes, that’s more murders than any other specific domestic extremist group, but let’s get real. There are more murders in Chicago in…
