The Netherlands’ Defense Ministry says it dispatched a pair of F-35 fighters late Monday after a Russian reconnaissance aircraft and two jet fighters encroached on Polish airspace from Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave ceded to the Soviets at the end of World War II. For the second time in two days, the U.S. military has shot down what North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) calls a “high altitude airborne object.” NORAD tracked the object, another possible spy balloon, over Canada’s Yukon Territory earlier Saturday.
