J.D. Vance may have some serious competition in the Ohio Republican Senate primary. Donald Trump’s endorsement gave Vance’s campaign a massive boost over MAGA-friendly rival Josh Mandel. However, there’s another candidate who, according to recent polling, has surged into second — or first place. That candidate has sparked the ire of the former president by urging Trump to stop pushing “lies about the outcome” of the 2020 presidential election, which Trump has clung to and constantly promoted for two years. That candidate is Matt Dolan, a Republican state senator and a traditional conservative (at least in the pre-Trump GOP). While…

A conservative newspaper claims that Congressman Madison Cawthorn may have implicated himself in an insider trading scheme. In response, U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) wants the government to investigate Cawthorn for potentially violating the STOCK Act. And he’s not alone. https://twitter.com/SenThomTillis/status/1519317945012432901?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1519317945012432901%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rawstory.com%2Fmadison-cawthorn-insider-trading%2F Tillis’ tweet follows a report by the Washington Examiner that detailed how Cawthorn may have broken the law by allegedly engaging in a pump-and-dump cryptocurrency scheme. The controversy emerged after Cawthorn posted pictures of himself at a party alongside James Koutoulas, a hedge fund manager behind the “Let’s Go Brandon” cryptocurrency, or LGBCoin. “LGB legends. … Tomorrow we go…

New York’s highest court has voided a Democratic-drawn congressional map calling the process “unconstitutional.” The ruling came about from a last-ditch appeal by Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) to rescue a redistricting map that overwhelmingly favored Democrats. In the end, the Court of Appeals ruled the map represented a partisan gerrymander. https://twitter.com/axios/status/1519397750214905868 The last congressional map approved in 2012 had eight Republican-leaning congressional districts. Democrats rammed their most recent version through the state legislature “without any Republican input” or “a single Republican vote.” It had only four GOP-leaning seats. https://twitter.com/baseballot/status/1517518645135646723?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1517518645135646723%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fstaging.americanliberty.news%2Fpolitics%2Fcourt-tosses-out-congressional-map-for-illegally-favoring-democrats%2Falnstaff%2F2022%2F04%2F Before today’s ruling, lawmakers in Albany had two days left to submit…

Conservative firebrand Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) wasted no time Tuesday night attacking House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and his number two Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.). Gaetz described the top two Republicans in Congress as “weak men” for “holding sniveling calls with Liz Cheney” in the days after the U.S. Capitol riot. https://twitter.com/RepMattGaetz/status/1519101270669332482?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1519101270669332482%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.huffpost.com%2Fentry%2Fkevin-mccarthy-matt-gaetz-mo-brooks-jan-6_n_626875b7e4b00b4e0184efbc In audio recordings leaked to New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns, McCarthy and Scalise both voiced concerns about Gaetz potentially inciting violence after the Jan. 6 attack with rhetoric that promoted unfounded election conspiracy theories. “He’s putting people in jeopardy,” McCarthy said of Gaetz…

James O’Keefe is at it again, thanks to a Twitter employee determined to spread the word about the company’s private reaction to Elon Musk’s acquisition. Twitter’s board accepted Musk’s buyout Monday during a marathon meeting after he announced commitments to finance the deal. Though arguably the world’s richest man (Vladimir Putin may hold that distinction), much of Musk’s wealth is invested in Telsa stock, forcing him to borrow billions against his holdings. Twitter stock closed Monday up 5.64%, buoyed by Musk’s offer well above Twitter’s share price and self-proclaimed commitment to free speech. However, the reaction within Twitter was markedly…

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed election integrity legislation into law. The bill, SB 524, takes several steps to ensure free and fair elections in the Sunshine State by creating new penalties for ballot harvesting, strengthening voter ID requirements and creating a state police unit “to investigate election law violations.” The law establishes the Office of Election Crimes and Security, a 15-member office assigned to assist in election crime investigations. It also gives DeSantis the power to appoint up to 10 law enforcement officers to help the Florida Department of Law Enforcement review allegations of election fraud. A press release…

A powerful rebuke from Utah’s statewide and federal elected officials is receiving high praise from proponents of small government. In an open letter, Beehive State lawmakers announced they would not cooperate with S&P Global Ratings’ increasingly politicized assessments supposedly evaluating their state’s financial health. Investors look to these ratings to assess the risk of buying bonds from states. They often affect how easy — or difficult — it is for states to borrow money. The group of Utahns, entirely made up of Republicans, specifically objected to S&P’s decision to publish environmental, social and governance (ESG) credit indicators for all 50 states.…

A new book from two New York Times reporters includes allegations that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was telling House Republicans that then-President Donald Trump needed to resign after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. But that’s not all; according to the reporters, McCarthy wanted Twitter to ban certain elected officials, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, for their unproven election conspiracy theories, which some have argued incited the crowd that day. McCarthy quickly responded to the allegations on Twitter, blasting them as “totally false and wrong.” However, the reporters had obtained a tape of…

President Joe Biden is desperate to distance himself from the left’s anti-police rhetoric. Even Biden realizes the toxicity of his party’s new cop-hating fixation. Not only do police officers deserve better, but the messaging is also repugnant to swing voters. Their focus remains, justifiably, on inflation and other economic indicators, which has negated any meager wage increases the administration loves to promote. Indeed, with Americans upset over food and gas prices increasing at levels not seen in decades, more astute Democrats have tried to sound the alarm over the fallout from their party’s tone-deaf social justice crusades. But even as…

In another win for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the Republican-controlled state legislature voted to dissolve Disney’s special tax and self-government status. Since 1967, Florida has given Disney special status to operate as an independent government within its Orlando-area theme parks and resorts. Thursday’s development could have significant implications for Disney and Florida. The New York Post further reports: Florida’s Republican-led House voted Thursday to approve a bill eliminating the Walt Disney Company’s special tax district which allows it to self-govern its land, sending the measure to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ desk to be signed into law. The bill passed by a 70-38 vote and…
