It was in 1974 I saw the Smith & Wesson Model 19, built on the famous K-frame. I had read about them, of course, in all the major gun rags. It had those great trumpet-shaped Goncalo Alves target grips and a deeply blued finish you could check your teeth inโ€ฆand it only cost $150. Smith & Wesson Model 19 Carry Comp Back then, if you had a Model 19, you kept it, and if you saw one in a store, you bought it. Smith & Wessonโ€™s Model 19 is still around and kicking, although these days, there are even more…

9mm and .45 ACP are probably the most popular concealed carry rounds out there, but there are definitely other cartridges that are worth considering.ย  Among those, one of my favorites is .380 ACP, also called .380 Auto. Another Under The Radar Value Proposition Unveiled in 2016, the Beretta APX was the 500 year old gun companyโ€™s first major duty oriented polymer framed striker fired 9mm handgun. At the time of its launch, this pistol certainly was categorically nothing newโ€”as many major gun manufacturers had already been marketing some form of a 9mm striker fired polymer framed pistol. This handgun while well thought out and smartly designed lived in the shadows of its bigger rivals like Glocks, Smith and Wesson M&Ps, the SIG-Sauer P320, et al. The lack of wider aftermarket support as compared to those giants also…

The state of New York got slapped down by the Supreme Court. The Bruen decision gutted their gun control scheme thoroughly and then set the stage so that there shouldnโ€™t have been any future shenanigans by the state. New York, however, didnโ€™t get the lesson. They immediately rushed through numerous measures in an ill-conceived bill that might almost have looked like they were complying with the Courtโ€™s rulingโ€ฆassuming you werenโ€™t really looking at it. Now, though, theyโ€™ve been smacked down yet again. A federal judge in New York temporarily suspended many parts of the stateโ€™s new gun restrictions on Monday to…

Anderson Manufacturing has just announced its first handgun, the Kiger-9c compact polymer 9mm concealed carry pistol.
