https://youtu.be/Zv6igebqUe0 I have been really impressed with the Walther PDP Full Size Pistol. That said, the chance to take a 1st Look at the New Walther PDP F-Series and Streamlight TLR-7 did not disappointโ€ฆ While I think their market grab for a โ€œFemaleโ€ pistol is poorly executed, I do like the F-Series PDP. It is comfortable, pretty compact and easy to shoot. Not to mention I actually got all my hits on the Runenation Cold Start, even if I did bust the time hackโ€ฆ The Streamlight TLR-7 is a handy little light too. I like the fact that it is…

Some years ago, I got a Taurus M942 snub 22 revolver for testing. Sadly, the gun failed to stabilize any 22 LR rounds I shot through it โ€ฆ at any distance. I felt badly about it, returned it and asked for a replacement. That didnโ€™t happen. Since, Iโ€™ve worked with other 22 rimfire understudies of the revolver and semi-auto styles. I continued to ask for another shot with the 942 โ€“ I thought the format had merit. Lately, I watched a bit of discussion between members of the brotherhood, this time on a Primary & Secondary โ€œmodcast.โ€ The topic was โ€œOptimal Is…

If youโ€™re out in the field tomorrow, 30 minutes before sunrise, then you know whatโ€™s up. For those of you who donโ€™t quite get that time reference, tomorrow is for hunters what Opening Day is to baseball fans, and what next Thursday night will be to those of us who are NFL fans. September 1st is huntingโ€™s version of Opening Day, and in particular, the first day of Dove Season in the many states around the country that allow dove hunting. Thatโ€™s because back in 1918 the Migratory Bird Treaty Act was passed to reverse the massive decline of many…

The Model 642โ€“2 Airweightย .38 Specialย revolver is a J-Frame. Smith & Wessonโ€™s J-Frame design originated around 1950 (though back in those days, the frames were steel). The 642 weighs 14.6 ounces and measures 6.3 inches overall, with a stainless barrel length of 1 7/8 inches. The cylinder and crane are also made from stainless steel, while the frame is aluminum alloy. This is a small, light revolver, which is the first clue why people still utilize these handguns. The Airweight 642 is seriously concealable while still being a realistic defensive caliber. Yes, there are tinier revolvers, many of which are chambered…

Earlier this year, Caveman LLC introduced a series of crush washers for AR-15s that change to bright colors when the barrel starts to heat up past 131 degrees F (55 degrees C). Caveman states that the intended idea behind their Spark AR-15 Crush Washers is to warn shooters when the barrel is too hot to touch or store, and at which point accuracy might start to decline, thus changing from black to one of four bright colors. The new Spark AR-15 Crush Washers are available in white, orange, green, and purple. Caveman LLCโ€™s description can be read below. AR-15 Parts…

Big bore custom Rugers from Tom Beaudette in .45 Colt, .44 Special and .44 Magnum. Growing up and reading Elmer Keith, I gained an appreciation for excellent craftsmanship, be it custom guns, handgun stocks, or quality leather. In Keithโ€™s era, there were only a handful of true craftsmen. One of the most pleasant things I do is โ€œdiscoverโ€ many of these. Tom Beaudette leads Trapperโ€™s Guns, not to be confused with Trapper Guns โ€” quite prominent in the 1970s and 1980s and operated by Lin โ€œTrapperโ€ Alexiou. Now that weโ€™ve got it all straightened out, we can look at Tom Beaudette…
