Senate negotiators have unveiled a 79-page bill to fund the government until Nov. 17 in hopes of averting a shutdown.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) described the measure as a “bridge” to avoid a shutdown.
The Hill has more:
“Senate Democrats and Republicans, together, worked in good faith to reach an agreement on a continuing resolution that will keep the government open beyond Sept. 30,” the Democratic leader said on the floor.
He acknowledged the agreement “won't have everything that both sides want” but argued it “will help us to achieve our immediate and necessary goal of avoiding a government shutdown.”
The bill includes $4.5 billion from an Operations and Maintenance fund for the Defense Department “to remain available until Sept. 30, 2024 to respond to the situation in Ukraine,” according to the measure's text.
The bill also includes another $1.65 billion in State Department funding for additional assistance to Ukraine that would be available until Sept. 30, 2025.
In the House, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is making another effort to reach a consensus within his own party on funding, after being repeatedly cut off.

CUT WASTE, FRAUD, ABUSE alone
So what Schumer is saying, between the lines, is more spending of the taxpayers money on the scames by the commies.
Who is a commie? By including these decisive and inflammatory language it’s hard to find you relevant. Raymond
Cut the funds for Ukraine! No money for Ukraine period! This is a garbage proposal just like everything else that comes from the Senate. Funding for “OUR” government only!
More like the Democrats and RINO’s worked together in good faith. I find it hard to believe that a few handfuls of decent actual Republicans would agree to such an unbridled spending boondoggle.
Stop the Biden weaponizing, more spending, cut the funding for the World Health Organization/EXITTHEWHO to exact and I might not know where Ukraine is(the Baltkins) but it is not located on my street. NO MORE FUNDING FOR THE UKRAINE WAR….$6 Billion…..with a Big, B
