Biden's pick to fill the seat of retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will be in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday for her first official day of hearings. SCOTUS nomineeย Ketanji Brown Jacksonย has already been meeting with Senators privately over the past few weeks. This week, Senators Josh Hawley and Mike Lee raised a few concerns over Judge Jackson's record.
Trade Relations Turn Sour With Russia and Belarus
Congress has made another move to thrust Russia into an unfavorable club. The House voted 424 Y โ 8 Nย on Thursday to end permanent normal trade relations (PNTR) with the nation. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R โ Ind.) also pushed her colleagues to include Belarus in the sanctions.ย ย
Daylight Savings Debate Heads to the House
Earlier this week, Senators unanimously passed a bill to make daylight savings time permanent. If enacted, the bill would end the practice of changing our clocks twice a year.
