Republicans in 2024 should be able to retake the Senate. The Senate map is the most favorable for Republicans than it has been in years. Joe Biden and Democrats are seen as overreaching and are extremely unpopular with their policies. All of this points to a banner year for Republicans in the Senate with seats in West Virginia, Montana, Ohio, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada up for grabs. New Jersey with scandal-tarred and potentially indicted Robert Menendez is another seat that could be worth watching. With all these opportunities, there should be many routes to a Republican Senate. Yet there aren't.
Why? Because Republicans are concentrating on just three races – Montana, Ohio and West Virginia. All three states are solid Republican states with Democratic incumbents that have defied political gravity in their states for a long time. So, 2024 should see the end of their tenure. Perhaps. Yet they have survived time and time again when they should have gone down to defeat. Also, Republicans will need to sweep all three. In a wave election that could happen.
So, what about the other states? That is where the trouble arises. Democrats in every cycle recruit candidates often on a hopeless mission to carry deep red states on the off chance that lightning might strike. It did in Georgia in 2020. Chuck Schumer masterfully did this in 2006 and 2008 with devastating results. Republicans for the most part play a narrow field and hope for an inside straight.
Wisconsin is a prime example. Tammy Baldwin, the Democratic incumbent is considered highly vulnerable by everyone. The state just reelected arch conservative Ron Johnson in 2022. The state is a must win state for both political parties in the race for the White House which means a strong Senate candidate is needed to assist the ticket. Republicans have an outstanding farm team. Yet nobody is stepping up to run. In fact, it seems to be an exodus from the race with numerous Republicans declining to step forward. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is being reported AWOL.
Pennsylvania in 2022 was a disaster for Republicans, yet despite this, it remains competitive. Yet Republicans have been lackluster in finding a candidate against Bob Casey, who could be vulnerable. The most highly touted candidate David McCormick goes back and forth about running.
These are just two of what are considered toss-up states. Republicans are missing in traditional blue states as well, refusing to expand the playing field. New Jersey's Robert Menendez could potentially be open for an upset (don't forget Republicans nearly won the governorship and would have if the RNC had invested). Yet the NRSC is not even making a token effort. Democrats on the other hand are playing in both red Florida and Texas (both states should be safe) to expand the playing field. This is the same story every election cycle, Democrats expand the field to tie up Republican money and efforts, while Republicans go defensive and pray for an inside straight. Until Republicans learn how to play the same game, the battle for the Senate is a Democratic advantage.

The only strategy that really needs to be the factor for 2024, is to shape up our elections, period. We need ELECTIONS, not SELECTIONS. The plausible deniers really want you to believe that we are a democracy, when we are a republic, if we can keep it.
Need to get rid of MItch McConnell who has really become a RINO. His failures in the mid-term elections lead to the disappointing results there which he is on point to repeat in 2024.
Hi All,
Republicans have lost, amd will continue to go down because they are sneaky liars. I call then Repubics. When Mr. Trmp was elected to the White House these Repubics held in control the House of Representatives and the Senate for 2 years. All these Repubics in at that time promesed us great things like ending Obama Care. Yet to this day we still have Obama Care. The Ass Party, the Democrats so named because they have an Ass for a party mascot, was brutalizing President Trump frm the front while President’s one party, the Repubics, was stabbing Mr. Trump in the back. I have been a staunch Republican for many decades. I now have sought out an gotten rehab for my Republican addiction and do not support them any longer. The father of all liars is Satan and this is who leads the Republicans now, Their are a bunch of liars. At the very least the Ass Party tells us to our face they hate us and will vigoriously work to kill of off, figuratively speaking, if they run the show. As it stands now we are the “Newest Banana Repubic” of these Americas.
