New numbers released last Friday show the true magnitude of the crisis on America's southern border.
Statistics published by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol highlight that the โnumber of migrant encounters at the U.S. southern border climbed to a record more than 227,000 during the month of September and more than 2.3 million for fiscal year 2022, according to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, โ per a Fox News report.
RJ Haumann, Director of Government Relations and Communications at the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said the following about the new numbers in a media release issued by the organization Friday:
Over the past 21 months, we have witnessed the devastating harm wrought by a rogue administration that is asserting near-dictatorial powers in a relentless effort to keep our borders open.
In that time, the Biden administration has blamed the unprecedented surge of illegal immigration on all sorts of external factors โ except their own purposeful sabotage of our nation's immigration laws. The endless flow of illegal immigrants and the incursion of lethal narcotics pouring across our border will not end until this administration demonstrates a willingness to secure the border and enforce the law. Sadly, these record-breaking numbers are unlikely to resonate with them, because what's happening is all by design.
Secretary Mayorkas clearly hid these border numbers on behalf of President Biden and the Democratic Party for political purposes, which is why he released them late on a Friday night. How can anyone vote for a party that puts politics first and America last?
When it comes to what Republicans can do if they take back one or both chambers of Congress in November, impeaching Secretary Mayorkas isn't a solution to a political problem, it is a valiant attempt to remove the architect of Biden's border crisis. Enough is enough.
Amid the gross negligence of President Biden, โBorder Czarโ Vice President Harris and Secretary Majorkas, the governors of Texas and Arizona continue to step up to secure America's southern border despite the lack of โoperational controlโ the Biden administration has in the region.
Politically, Gov. Abbott (R-Texas) is in a reelection battle for the governor's mansion with Beto O'Rourke, former mayor pro tempore of El Paso, U.S. Congressman and failed U.S. Senate challenger to Ted Cruz in 2018. Abbott has made securing the border a key issue of his campaign and his team has repeatedly hit Beto for flip-flopping on the issue throughout his political career. Within the last week, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey also came under fire for the work that he has been doing to build a physical barrier, aka a wall on the southern border for the past few months. (RELATED: Arizona Governor Responds Defiantly to Biden Administration's Demand)
In a tweet from his official gubernatorial account, Ducey said the following:
โArizonans cannot โ and will not โ wait for federal bureaucrats to do their job and secure the border. We're taking action now.โ
Ducey also responded to the criticism in this segment which aired on local TV in Arizona:
