Support Joe Collins for Congress! In case you missed it, there was another campaign violation complaint for Congresswoman Val Demings (D-Fla). This time, the Marco Rubio challenger potentially violated federal campaign laws by accepting in-kind contributions from anti-parent Terry McAuliffe's Common Good Virginia PAC, a state political committee. Val sure knows how to pick โem.
The Floridian reports:
Americans for Public Trust has filed a complaint Wednesday with the Federal Election Committee (FEC) against Florida Democrat Val Demings andย Val Demings for U.S. Senate campaignย over allegations the campaign violated the federal โsoft moneyโ ban.
According to theย complaint, Americans for Public Trustย argues that Demings accepted an โin-kind contributionโ fromย Common Good Virginia, a non-federal political action committee, violating โsoft money banโ under Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA). The PAC, set up byย former Democrat Virginiaย Gov.ย Terry McAuliffeย in March 2014, sent numerous email fundraising solicitations last month, raising political funds for Demings' Senate campaign committee.
Florida Politics further explains:
The complaint contends Common Good Virginia is a Virginia-based political committee not registered as a federal entity.
McAuliffeย lost last weekย to Republicanย Glenn Youngkinย in the Virginia gubernatorial election.

โBy approving and participating in this email solicitation, Representative Demings has accepted an in-kind contribution from an organization not regulated under FECA, in violation of the soft money ban,โ the complaint states. It calls on the FEC to conduct an investigation and impose โappropriate sanctions.โ
