Following years of accusations from several women, R&B artist R. Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking.
U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly imposed the sentence on Kelly and ordered him to pay a $100,000 fine at the conclusion of a nearly three-hour hearing. As reported by Fox News, Kelly did not address the court, however, several women did come forward to testify against him. The victims held hands while the sentence was read. Kelly had no apparent reaction.
Seven of Kelly's victims gave impact statements during the sentencing hearing. The women who spoke at Kelly's sentencing were identified only by first names or pseudonyms.
โYou made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,โ one woman told the Grammy-winning, multiplatinum-selling singer. โDo you remember that?โ
Another woman, sobbing and sniffling as she spoke, said Kelly's conviction restored her faith in the legal system.
โI once lost hope,โ she said, addressing the court and prosecutors, โbut you restored my faith.โ
The woman said Kelly victimized her after she went to a concert when she was 17. โI was afraid, naive and didn't know to handle the situation,โ she said, so she didn't speak up at the time.
โSilence,โ she said, โis a very lonely place.โ
The artist was convicted on one count of racketeering. The racketeering includes 14 underlying acts of sexual exploitation of a child, kidnapping, bribery and sex trafficking charges. He was also convictedย on eight violations of the Mann Act. The legislation makes it illegal to transport people across state lines for โimmoral purposes.โ
Kelly has been jailed without bail since 2019. He's still facing child pornography and obstruction of justice charges in Chicago, where a trial is scheduled to begin on Aug. 15.

Sex traffickers should all be punished severely
Maxwell and now Kelly!
And yet the scumbags on Epstein’s client list will never serve a minute. The left is very selective about who they punish.
Absolutely unjust, but it’s not over YET!! Yahweh is very patient but He will bring the justice. Take Heart!!
I imagine that old “R” will be on the receiving end of the “love”, not on the giving end!
I heard a lot of the same comments from the women Bill Clinton victimized and he also went to Epstein’s love island a couple dozen times. When will he be prosecuted ?
Never will. Funny in all the court proceedings, only 1 name was mentioned as a โclientโ.
Elsewhere I commented, Yippee Kai Yay.
He will just pull a jessie (no such name as jussie) and cry racism and get an appeal.
Kelly gets 30 and Maxwell gets 20. Whereโs the justice?
He’s about to get a little bump and grind he sang about in prison.
You can hear the murmuring amongst the tribe of celebrity lawyers all lining up as the chants of ‘ZHOW ME THE MONEY!’ rise to the surface! Piranhas with the smell of fresh blood in their nostrils!
