FRIDAY PDB – As I have said many times before about the current Pentagon leadership – ‘Go Woke – Go Broke.' Yet they ignore the obvious, which has been shown by surveys: patriotic, white, Christian men, many from the South (the core of our Armed Forces), are totally turned off by the military's wokeness.
And this may partly be the left's goal – to deliberately alienate white Christian men from joining, so they can expand efforts to recruit non-religious, non-white, woke LGBT lefties instead.
Lawmakers accuse Army of ignoring evidence that ‘woke' policies hurt recruiting. A pair of Republican House leaders on Thursday accused Army officials of covering up evidence that social justice initiatives are hurting military recruiting efforts and demanded the service turn over all survey data on the topic to Congress.
FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Here's a roundup of those and other developing stories.
Not the President's Daily Brief, but almost as good – PAUL'S DAILY BRIEFING – the PDB:
PENTAGON WOKE WATCH
PODCAST: Lawmakers go after socialist ‘wokeness' in the military. A pair of House Republicans accused Army officials of hiding survey results that say people won't serve because of woke policies.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What Pentagon leaders say they have learned from a year of battle in Ukraine. Senior military leaders from virtually every service and specialty have spoken about how they're incorporating lessons from the Ukraine war, from the danger of cell phones to the importance of a quick-moving industrial base.
Lessons Congress has learned one year into the Ukraine war. One year later, what has Congress learned?
How the US adopted a new intelligence playbook to expose Russian plans. Bolder disclosures are part of a larger effort to stymie the Kremlin's offensive in Ukraine and align support for Kyiv's war effort in allied countries.
The new era of counterintelligence must shift focus to the gray zone. Strategic competition in the current global context is a post-counterterrorism-era paradigm shift that demands more aggressive offensive U.S. counterintelligence activities.
HOMELAND DEFENSE
How balloon encounters revealed gaps in NORAD's warning system. What is air defense even doing?
HOMELAND SECURITY
Retired Navy captain who testified against other officers gets prison in ‘Fat Leonard 'bribery case. Jesús Vasquez Cantú, who pleaded guilty to a bribery conspiracy charge, told the judge he ‘tarnished the public's perception of the Navy.'
CHINA THREAT
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS – China calls for Russia-Ukraine cease-fire, peace talks. China called for a cease-fire between Ukraine and Moscow and the opening of peace talks in a 12-point proposal to end the fighting.
NEED MORE – US amps up troop presence in Taiwan. As tensions with China rise, the U.S. will deploy between 100 and 200 troops in the coming months, up from roughly 30 a year ago, to bolster a training program for the island's military.
RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR
Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 366. The UN General Assembly passed a non-binding resolution that calls for Russia to end hostilities and withdraw from Ukraine for a “just and lasting” peace. Ukraine's president expressed confidence his country would be victorious over invading Russian forces, even as fears grow over attacks on the war's first anniversary.
One year on, why Putin has already lost the war. “I do not see how Putin could maintain support of the elite for two or three years.”
What to expect in the second year of the Russia-Ukraine war. The first year of the war has been defined by the resilience of Kyiv's forces and Moscow's diminished military power. The course of the second year will depend largely on forces outside of either country.
How will the war in Ukraine end? Maybe like 1953 Korea. After a year of brutal fighting, the war has reached a stalemate. No negotiated settlement is in sight. On the battlefield, battered armies contest small strips of territory, at a terrible cost. The threat of nuclear escalation hangs in the air.
NORTH KOREA THREAT
North Korea says it test-fired long-range cruise missiles. The latest test occurred in waters off its eastern coast on Thursday.
SPACE THREAT
White House advisory group to explore DoD use of commercial space sector. The National Space Council's new Users Advisory Group (UAG) met for the first time today, with its national security subcommittee focusing largely on how the Pentagon can better take advantage of booming commercial space sector.
INTERNATIONAL SECURITY
Polish president offers US military more space, asks Biden for extra firepower. Poland wants to see larger stockpiles of U.S. weapons on its soil, to allow allies to respond faster in a crisis, the country's head of state just said.
US troops help transform Incirlik Air Base into global hub for earthquake aid. The boxes being moved from the flight line by U.S. airmen, in the aftermath of one of the worst natural disasters in decades, are a window into a global outpouring of humanitarian aid.
Nigeria is about to hold Africa's largest democratic exercise. Here's what to know about its presidential election. Nigerians will head to the polls Saturday in a fiercely contested presidential vote that appears too close to call. WILL VIOLENCE ENSUE?
US MILITARY
SEMPER PARATUS – How Coast Guard boot camp turns recruits into Coasties. As the maritime security, search and rescue, and law enforcement branch of the US Armed Forces, the Coast Guard is the only service that falls under the Department of Homeland Security.
Guard trains for an arctic fight. The Pentagon wants to dominate in a fight against Russia or China, so the National Guard is training in the snow in northern Michigan.
‘GO WOKE – GO BROKE' – Army secretary says recruiting troubles are ‘very serious,' and fixing them could stretch into 2024. The Army sought 60,000 new recruits in 2022 but enlisted only 45,000. For 2023, the service is aiming even higher — for 65,000 new members.

Will result in lost Readiness, prep for combat & defense
Just remembering how blacks overwhelmingly decried about being drafted in disproportionate numbers to fight the Vietnam War. Now the left thinks that they are the ones who are going to step up to defend our country. You leftist progressives are very funny. Oh wait, you are serious. Well bless your heart.
The current pentagon is nothing more than political trash who’ve ignored their oath to protect and defend like the Demonrats and RINOs fail to represent their constituents..
The current Pentagon was created by Obama
This wokeness in the military is very devistating, to our military strength, and preparedness. Get your heads out of your behinds,u can’t win a war without christian white men, or white men.Sounds like something woke, white rage, traitor, milley, would say.America with it’s present leadership would have a hard time winning a war, so much incompetence,we would be a laughing stock, under hidenbiden again.
Patriotic White Christian males have won most all of America’s wars. The new non-christian, anti-patriotic, America hating soldier is the Pentagons change agent. This new recruit recruiting will certainly place the American military on an equal footing with….China? North Korea? Russia? The EU?, Iran? Pakistan? all of them? …..an equal footing but now entirely out numbered.
