ALERT โ Despite Team Biden's frequent falsehoods regarding the border, his team and,ย as I wrote aboutย earlier, some in the media see a coming crisis. As I've said before, the crisis has been ongoing and worsening since Joe Biden took office and immediately reversed Donald Trump's effective border and immigration policies.
Since 2021 it has been a steadily growing wave of illegal immigration. But now, with Biden set to allow the Trump-eraย pandemic-related health restrictions known asย Title 42ย set to expire in three days, that wave is about to become a tsunami.
As I haveย also written, between 700,000 and one million migrants are reportedly massing on the border, just waiting to crash it. They are being egged on by the cartels and smugglers who control parts of the border.
Title 42, which allowed prompt deportation of migrants without first hearing their asylum claims, was the only major Trump border policy kept by Biden โ despite several prior attempts to end it. The policy has prevented some 2.8 million border crossers from entering the U.S. since its implementation in March 2020.
Most recently, Biden ordered 1,500 active-duty troops to the border. Most critics pointed out the hypocrisy considering the vehement opposition to Trump doing something similar. Others noted that the troops would be performing mostly administrative duties, freeing Customs and Border Protection (CPB) agents to enforce the law.
According to a U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM)ย statementย on Friday, their tasks will consist of โdetection and monitoring supportโย as well as โdata entry [and] warehousing support.โ
Most believed that the bulk of these troops would be Army.
But now we learnย that U.S. Marines, America's 911 force, and the warfighters who storm our enemies' beaches are leading Biden's military effort on the southern border.
Among the troops being deployed are:
- The Marine Corps' 2nd Marine Regiment, out of Camp Lejeune, N.C.;
- USMC Combat Logistics Battalion 2, also out of Camp Lejeune;
- And the Army's 93rd Military Police Battalion, out of Fort Bliss, Texas.
The three units will deploy for roughly 90 days, the Pentagon has said.ย A small number of U.S. Air Force personnel will also deploy.โ
And, according to NORTHCOM โ โAll DoD personnel will be in direct support of the DHS, the lead federal agency for security of the U.S. southwest border.โ
NORTHCOM is the unified Pentagon command responsible for defending North America. It plans, organizes and executes homeland defense and civil support missions but has few permanently assigned forces.
As its websiteย states:
The commander of USNORTHCOM also commands the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), a bi-national command responsible for aerospace warning, aerospace control, and maritime warning for Canada, Alaska and the continental United States.
USNORTHCOM's civil support mission includes domestic disaster relief operations that occur during fires, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. Support also includes counter-drug operations and managing the consequences of a terrorist event employing a weapon of mass destruction. The command provides assistance to a Primary Agency when tasked by DOD.
Per the Posse Comitatus Act, military forces can provide civil support, but cannot become directly involved in law enforcement. [emphasis added]
The active duty forces are expected to arrive by Wednesday just before Title 42ย finally expires just before midnight Friday morning.
Officially, the newly arriving Marines and soldiers โwill not be permitted to support migrant processingย and escort duties or other activities that involve direct participation in civilian law enforcement activities,โ and they won't โbe responsible for property seized from migrants or require direct contact with migrants.โ
That is the law.
But if that's true, why send a Marine combat regiment to the border rather than more administrative units?

Deployed for what” They going to stamp the illegals so when they take off they can scan them with a blue light. Biden and hIs handlers want open borders, for their VOTES. We are officially a third word country . Obama said he would change America, and he has finally done something he said he would. His third term through this half Biden. They should al be in GITMO or Leavenworth.
The troops can’t stop the ILLEGALS, they must be kind and gentle. (GAG ME). I notice all these poor mostly young men are very well dressed and well fed.See any educated PEOPLE coming across? Doctors, lawyers, I.T. people, nurses, . NO JUST LEECHS. Future Demorat voters.
That’s the ONLY reason…….voters.
We are definitely a third world hellhole nation now, with the blessings of the courts!
All those troops will mean nothing since they will not be allowed to use their weapons to repel the invaders. If they even put their hands on them the media will claim all kinds of things were done to the illegals.
Border Task Force should include NM & AZ too
Arizona has a fraudulent cartel bought governor!
That is just great, now the Marines are going to backstab the citizens by flying the invaders into the interior of the country! This nation has turned third world with the courts blessings of fraudulent elections and all!
Well, so what? Betcha a nickel, if they fire on the invaders, Biden and his leftover Obama goons will try them for murder. THIS is the reason nobody wants to join the Armed Forces: because the Guvvah-mint will no longer stand behind them, Forget the goofy drag queen diversity campaigns.
Why is protecting our border a Law Enforcement action, not a military action? Seems to me that if you had the military at the border, actively preventing people from stepping over the line, you wouldn’t need to do all the paperwork that takes up so much time and manpower. That was the primary concept behind Trump’s border wall, wasn’t it?
This is all theater. Texas has deployed National Guard units under the control of the governor. It is hard to see what administrative role active duty personnel will perform for agencies that have their own internal administration. I think active duty personnel are being deployed to keep an eye on the National Guard. I can think of no other role for them to play.
