Zakrzewski, 55, was a veteran war zone photographer who had captured dramatic images in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan during his time with the network.
Fox News' Danielle Wallace and Greg Norman have more on the network's reaction:
โPierre was a constant in all of our international coverage. I, like countless others, always felt an extra sense of reassurance when arriving on the scene and seeing him with camera in hand,โ Fox News president and executive editor Jay Wallace said Tuesday. โThe legacy of his positive spirit, boundless energy and eye for the story will carry on.โ
โWe extend our deepest condolences to Pierre's wife Michelle and family,โ Scott wrote to Fox News Media staff. โPlease keep them all in your prayers. And please continue to pray for Benjamin Hall.โ
As of yesterday's afternoon, Scott had โa minimal level of detailsโ regarding Hall's condition. Fox has not provided any further information.
The vehicle transporting Zakrzewski and Hall reportedly came under fire from Russian troops at a checkpoint in Horenka, Ukraine, a village 15 miles northwest of Kyiv.
