As the world awaits the likely fourth indictment of former President Donald Trump in the Georgia election probe, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ruled cameras can be allowed in court if Trump is charged. (RELATED: Georgia Supreme Court Unanimously Rejects Trump's Bid)
The decision means the entire hearing will be broadcast live in front of millions, exponentially increasing the tension in the courtroom as Deadline's Ted Johnson reports:
A judge who is presiding over grand jury deliberations inย Fulton County, GA on Monday said that media will be allowed to film and photograph the moment when an indictment is handed down, according to The Messenger.
โIf a grand jury presents an indictment, that's usually in the afternoon, and you can film and photograph that,โ said Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney.
District Attorney Fani Willis began presenting her case to the grand jury Monday morning. Trump responded on Truth Social by accusing Willis of having an affair with a gang member she represented as a defense attorney in 2019. No evidence exists to corroborate such a claim.
Johnson continues:
It's still unclear whether cameras would be allowed in other proceedings, like Trump's potential arraignment, butย Georgiaย law contrasts to other jurisdictions where the president has been criminally charged. Federal courts prohibit televising or audio recording of criminal proceedings. In New York, where Trump is facing criminal charges related to hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, still cameras were allowed for a brief period during the former president's arraignment but then were barred from the proceedings.

Media organizations are expected to press for some kind of camera coverage of Trump's federal criminal proceedings, despite current rules.
The Fulton County grand jury only meets on Mondays and Tuesdays, making a vote to indict Trump widely anticipated in the next 24 hours.

This is the same judge that said he would hear the voter fraud case on it merits, then changed his mind and threw out the case. At least they will have a jury trial. Probably won’t do any good just like cases in NY because of where the case is being heard.
