UPDATE:
Since yesterday afternoon, more reactions to the not guilty verdict have poured in. Vice President Kamala Harris all but chastised the jury even though the facts in the case clearly favored the defense. Indeed, Wisconsin law allows someone to use deadly force when they genuinely believe that they face the possibility of death or great bodily harm.
President Biden initially only said โI stand by what the jury has concluded. The jury system works and we have to abide by it.โ In a later statement put out by the White House, Biden said he was โangry and concerned.โ

18-Year-Old Kyle Rittenhouse Acquitted on All Charges
Earlier today the jury in Kenosha, Wisconsin exonerated Kyle Rittenhouse. They found that he was justified in opening fire and acted in self-defense.
The polarizing case has captivated the nation for weeks. Everyone knew that its outcome, either way, would leave millions disappointed, if not outraged.
In response to the threat of violence, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) has ordered 500 National Guardsmen to prepare for a rapid deployment to Kenosha.
The White House has yet to issue a statement. Then-Sen. Joe Biden compared Rittenhouse to white supremacists on the campaign trail without knowing the full details of the case. In the Jamesย S.ย Brady Press Briefing Room, White House Spokesperson Jen Psaki found out about the verdict in real time.
After the prosecution and defense made their case, Rittenhouse selected 12 names from a raffle drum who would decide his fate. The 12 were among the 18 people who sat in the jury box. A court clerk is usually assigned this taskโnot the defendant.
During the trial, Rittenhouse maintained he acted in self-defense. The prosecution argued that he set in motion the bloodshed that night of August 25, 2020.
The reaction from Twitter has been swift with very different takes depending on one's political persuasion:

I think the Justice has prevailed. This was the right decision by the sitting Judge.
Re-Affirming that we have an individual right to self-defense. A minor win for Wisconsin residents – and a major victory for this young fellow subjected to such a horrible ordeal. One hopes that he can go after the miserable leftist media that so demonized him, and attacked us all in so doing.
