House Republicans have requested that the Senate Judiciary Committee investigate President Joe Biden's Supreme Court nominee over her lenient sentences for sex offenders.
A group of conservative representatives sent the Committee a letter asking it investigate three child pornography cases where Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson โdeviated from federal sentencing guidelines in favor of the offendersโ when she served as vice-chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
The cases areย U.S. v. Hawkins,ย U.S v. Stewart and U.S. v. Chazin. In U.S. v. Hawkins, โJackson sentenced a man convicted of possessing child pornography to three months when sentencing guidelines called for 10 years.โ
The Daily Caller first reported on the effort initiated by Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.). Buck, and 17 of his House colleagues, addressed the letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Majority Leader Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Minority Leader Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).
The Daily Caller's Henry Rodgers has more:
โJudge Jackson's pattern and practice of leniency on sentencing for child sex crimes is deeply troubling. Her record of special empathy towards criminals is the fulfillment of Democrats' soft-on-crime, defund the police movement that has caused a spike in crime across the nation,โ Buck told the Daily Caller.
Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley, who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee firstย mentionedย these cases Thursday and pressed Jackson about them during the first day of her Senate confirmation hearings before the Judiciary Committee Monday.
In the case of U.S. v. Hawkins, โJackson sentenced the perpetrator to only 3 months in prisonโ when the โSentencing Guidelines called for a sentence of up to 10 years,โ Hawleyย saidย on Twitter. โThis goes beyond โsoft on crime.' I'm concerned that this a record that endangers our children.โ
White House press secretary Jen Psaki disputed the claims Thursday, saying Jackson's sentencing of sex crimes have all been โconsistentโ with the recommended sentences.
So, what do you think? Will Judge Jackson be confirmed, and how should Republicans respond when the far-left blindly accuses Jackson's critics of trying to incite violence against her? Tell us in the comment below!

This woman is knowingly contributing to the moral degradation of society. No way should she be anywhere near the SC.
Jen would never ageee that this nominee is anything but awesome. We are doomed. The left is dragging this country into the gutter.
Getting her on the SC so she can give Hunter a soft sentence.
Don’t listen to KJB, Check her records that she is not providing the proper sentence for criminals. She should not be a SC judge.
Do you realize how devastating sexual crimes are????
