Fox News mainstay Bret Baier isn't jumping ship anytime soon.
On Tuesday, Fox News announced it extended chief political anchor Baier's contract.
As part of his contract extension, Baier will continue in his role as anchor and executive editor of the network'sย โSpecial Report,โ newscast and co-anchor 2024 election coverage and hostย Theย Bret Baierย Podcastย on Fox News Audio.
Baier has been the anchor ofย Special Report since January 2009, when he took over for longtime television news journalistย Brit Hume,ย who remains one of Fox's top political analysts and a regular on the program. The show pulls in an average nightly audience of around 2 million viewers.
Last month, Baier also co-moderated theย first Republican presidential primary debate.
The contract extension comes months after Fox News agreed to pay a nearly $800 settlement to Dominion Voting Systems, shortly after popular host Tucker Carlson also announced his exit from the network.
