The New York Times has more:
ESPN said in a statement that it needed to cut costs โin the area of public-facing commentator salaries,โ including โa small group of job cuts in the short term.โ The layoffs included some of the network's biggest names.
Suzy Kolber, an N.F.L. reporter and the host of the pregame show โMonday Night Countdown,โ publicly acknowledged in aย Twitter postย on Friday afternoon that she had been laid off. โToday I join the many hard-working colleagues who have been laid off,โ she said. โHeartbreaking, but 27 years at ESPN was a good run.โ
Jeff Van Gundy, the former coach of the New York Knicks who had been an N.B.A. analyst with ESPN, was also let go. Van Gundy had worked at ESPN since 2007, according to hisย company biography. Jalen Rose, a studio analyst and a member of the University of Michigan's storied โFab Five,โ was also among those laid off. The layoffs of Van Gundy and Rose were first reported byย The New York Postย and were confirmed by The New York Times.
Joon Lee, a baseball reporter, andย Ashley Brewer, an anchorย who had worked on the network's flagship show โSportsCenter,โ also said on Twitter that they had left the company.
Some employees may have the opportunity to renegotiate their contracts at reduced salaries at the end of their term.

All dead weight!
I wonder what the real reason is for failing TV networks dumping so many of their star Lefties. I hope they are finally beginning to realize that we Normals’ toleration of leftist propaganda and constant accusations of racism have come back to bite them on their posteriors and seriously impacts network revenue. Disney, Target, Anheuser-Busch, CNN, and so many others seem to persist even with clear evidence they will be ruined.
They persist because they are controlled by BlackRock. Watch this eye opener:

But it’s a good sign the Woke are cutting expenses. It means even for them, who can print money to themselves through Federal Reserve liquidity facilities (special computers), that money has tightened.
As long as we still have games on ABC, NBC, FOX and Prime Video we won’t be missing ESPN.
start getting rid of the black racists and you will see a more civil interaction in the country.
Bravo get new Blood ??
Rebrand ESPN
Who cares???
Dear ESPN “stars”,
News and Sports are intrinsically dynamic in their subject matter and interest to the public; but posing as professors of Woke is distracting and boring to large swaths of your viewership, if not downright offensive, detracting from the stories you are supposed to be reporting. Therefore, working for a company that is less Woke will yield greater success as the real demand in the market is met.
THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR JOB IS TO ENTERTAIN PEOPLE WITH SPORTS COMMENTARY AND YOU START TALKING ABOUT POLITICS, SOMETHING PEOPLE WATCH SPORTS TO GET AWAY FROM.
