Social media giant Twitter has banned Bill Clinton's rape accuser Juanita Broaddrick for her tweet questioning the effectiveness of coronavirus vaccines.
Broaddrick provided Fox News Digital with a copy of the notification from Twitter announcing her suspension.
Fox's Lawrence Richard has more:
In the statement, Twitter suggested Broaddrick delete the tweet should she wish to have account access restored.
โWe understand that during times of crisis and instability, it is difficult to know what to do to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Under this policy, we require the removal of content that may pose a risk to people's health, including content that goes directly against guidance from authoritative sources of global and local public health information,โ the company said.
Broaddrick became a household name in the late 90s after accusing then-President Clinton of raping her back in 1978. Her accusations came during an interview with โDateline NBC.โ
NBC's Lisa Myers' interviewed Broaddrick the day after the U.S. House of Representatives impeached Clinton. However, her bombshell allegations only aired 35 days later โ 12 days after the U.S. Senate voted to acquit Clinton.
At the time, the vast majority of the mainstream media expressed skepticism of Broaddrick's claim with victim-blaming questions, like why she didn't come forward sooner. In fairness, public perceptions about sexual misconduct allegations were very different at the time.
Finally, Broaddrick's claim received some validation from liberal outlets during the #MeToo reckoning of 2017.
The Atlantic and The New York Times published articles, in particular, that outlined why Broaddrick's allegations against the former president were among the most troubling and credible in recent memory.
Unfortunately, they were two decades too late.
During the 2016 presidential election, The Daily Wire asked Broaddrick about meeting Hillary after her alleged encounter:
Speaking toย The Daily Wireย back in 2016, Broaddrick recounted the interaction with Hillary: โShe threatened me at that fundraiser, that's foremost in my mind,โ she said. โI'll never forget that; I'll never forget that encounter with her that people keep minimizing, saying that, โWell, she didn't mean that.'โ
โฆ
โI felt like she knew [I was raped], it was just the look in her eyes and the anger on her face, because I was so afraid at that time of anyone knowing what had happened to me,โ she added.
President Clinton's Twitter profile remains active. He has never spoken publicly about Broaddrick's claims.
Late Sunday night, Elon Musk announced he had declined to join Twitter's board, which means he won't be restricted by how much of the company he can buy.
Musk tweeted repeatedly over the weekend how he'd like to see Twitter make changes and confront its censorship. How optimistic are you Musk will reform Twitter? As always, tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Your headline, “Bill Clinton Rape Accuser Silenced in Shocking Fashion” could lead one to believe that the subject for which the person was silenced was the disgraced president’s actions. Talk about misinformation. As it is clearly understood, misinformation is often in the way items are worded without specifically addressing an issue straight on. You have bridged that gap with this headline and should retract it with a full explanation openly and not hidden in a “back page” one line “sorry”
I agree – I clicked on this article expecting to find suppression of an accusation of rape against former Pres. Bill Clinton. I was deceived. And just because Broaddrick was victimized by the satyr POTUS does not give her the right to spread COVID19 misinformation.
