Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has now crisscrossed what will be a crucial state in the 2024 Republican presidential primary: Iowa.
Wherever he went, DeSantis received a warm Midwest welcome, possibly boosted by the popular, Trump-endorsed Republican who appeared alongside him: Governor Kim Reynolds.
The yet-to-announce presidential candidate traveled to the Hawkeye State to sell his political memoir, โThe Courage to Be Free: Florida's Blueprint for America's Survival,โ which hit shelves last week.
It was lost on no one that he chose to go to the first-in-the-nation presidential caucus state.
Or that Reynolds, who has been a powerful ally of former President Donald Trump, choose to join him on stage for a Q&A in Davenport.
Mediaite further reports:
โHe is just getting warmed up. This guy is a man on a mission,โ Reynolds began, as she fawned over DeSantis's successes in Florida.
DeSantis repaid the compliment telling Reynolds, โI always tell my legislators, you watch Iowa โ do not let them get ahead of us on any of this stuff.โ
CNN reported from the event and noted that there was โstanding room only in the crowdโ and โpeople lined up as early as 6 a.m. to enter the event room.โ
Reynolds also appeared with DeSantis at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, where she compared her style to that of her Florida counterpart.
โReynolds, who attended his donor retreat in Palm Beach last month, personally urged DeSantis to visit the state sooner than later, her aides said,โย reportedย CNN on Friday. DeSantis's donor retreat coincided with a similar event hosted by Trump.
Trump is scheduled to make a campaign appearance in Iowa today โ his first of the 2024 campaign.
The closely timed trip highlights his growing rivalry with DeSantis.

The Republican Party is known as the party of stupid capable of snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory. God forbid they all speak with one voice for the American people and get behind President Trump. With Trump in the White House and Desantis as VP we would have 12 years to straighten this crap out. But no that would be too easy. Trump will be the nominee but not before a number of Republicans weaken the Party.
DeSantis can run one state. Trump ran them all with great success.
