Former Trump fixer and personal attorney Michael Cohen is eyeing a run for Congress. Cohen, 56, spent three years in prison for tax fraud and campaign finance violations after falling out of favor with then-President Trump.
Despite his past, insiders say Cohen is seriously mulling over a primary challenge to Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), the ranking member on the powerful House Judiciary Committee and a formidable presence in New York City politics. Cohen would challenge Nadler in a district where the winner of the Democratic Party primary would be all but guaranteed to represent the Manhattan-based seat following the general election.
Politico has more on his potential long-shot bid:
The former lawyer worked for Trump for more than a decade, doing stints in the Trump Organization, the Trump 2016 campaign and at the RNC. Cohen was sentenced to federal prison in December 2018 after he pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations and related crimes that stemmed from his time working for the former president.
Those charges concern hush money, which he admitted he paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels under the direction of Trump โ a controversy that has led to aย New York state indictmentย against the former president. Cohenย testified to that grand juryย before it made its charges, and he is likely to serve a key role in the coming trial.
His conviction got him disbarred, and he emerged from prison as a critic of Trump. Despite his work for the former president, Cohen has volunteered and worked for various Democrats throughout his life, and he registered as a Democrat after his prison sentence,ย according to his lawyer.
New York's 12th congressional district, which wasย shaken up last yearย to encompass the Upper East Side and Upper West Side of Manhattan, includes some of the most affluent areas of the country. Nadler easily defeated former Rep. Carolyn Maloney in a rare primary showdown of House committee chairs last year after the two were drawn into the same district.
Cohen, who once vowed to take a bullet for Trump, recently launched a podcast โMea Culpa,โ where the self-described โgangster lawyerโ blasts his old boss.
Rosie O'Donnell was his first guest.

Let me see. Will I vote for Cohen or Nadler? How about NONE! The two of them are bridge trolls that I wouldn’t trust to do anything!
Why not? All the ‘Outer Limits’ people flock to join the ‘Rainbow’ Party of other than normal extremists. He will be accepted, applauded and do fine there.

Well someone with a criminal record should run as a Democrat, it is well suited for winning an election. He will be in good company.
Isn’t Cohen a felon ??
