A former Trump official is making a big prediction about Donald Trump's hunt for a running mate.
Ex-White House strategist Stephen Bannon says that Republican firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene is setting her sights high- the White House, in fact.
During an interview with NBC News, Bannon said that Rep. Greene is gunning to become Trump's next vice president.
โThis is no shrinking violet, she's ambitious โ she's not shy about that, nor should she be. โฆ She sees herself on the short list for Trump's VP,โ Bannonย told NBC News.ย
When Greene โlooks in the mirror, she sees a potential president smiling back,โ Bannon added.ย
An unnamed source in the NBC News piece concurred that Greene's โwhole visionโ is to snag the second-in-command slot on Trump's ticket. ย
The source noted Rep. Greene's recent efforts to rebrand herself as a politician who has the ability to โstand astride the divide between the party's hard-liners and its establishment wingโ is definitely part of a larger goal.
Recently, MTG threw herself into the middle of the contentious battle to elect a new Speaker of the House. Bannon told NBC that Rep. Greene's support of Kevin McCarthy was a calculated risk.
โShe's both strategic and disciplined โ she made a power move, knowing it would run up hard against her most ardent crew,โ he said. โShe was prepared to take the intense heat/hatred short-term for the long-term goal of being a player.โ
So far, Trump has been silent about the ongoing search for a vice president.

It seems strange that she now wants to be VP running with Trump while she has been unsupportive of Trump.
??? She was cast off committees 2 yrs ago because of things she said as a teenager but in reality her loud support of Trump &/or MAGA. You know, I don’t think we’d get the word salads from her like the one who’s a VP NOW.
I’ll give her a chance to show what she can do with her committee assignments. If she’s going to go directly to campaigning as a VP with getting no experience under her belt, well then she’s got SFB like the VP we’ve got now. And that we don’t need.
I put this in the same rumor category as “she’s dating Kevin McCarthy” for right now
VP should have government, business and executive experience. OJT for VP should be graduate school OJT, not first grade OJT. Trump was handicapped by lack of experience dealing with politics and bureaucracy. Dangerous bureaucrats should go, and replacements should be waiting. But government should return to the states, municipalities, cities, towns, and to the people!
