Less than a week after being acquitted, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) is already looking at a potential Senate campaign.
During an interview with Tucker Carlson, Paxton floated the idea of potentially challenging Texas Sen. John Cornyn in 2026.
โTo me, he's been in Washington too long. He's been there, what, for 14 years or so? And I can't think of a single thing he's accomplished for our state or even for the country,โ Paxton told Carlson in anย interview that debuted Wednesday.
Cornyn was first elected to the Senate in 2002.
โEverything's on the table for me,โ Paxton said in response to Carlson asking if he would run. โI think it's time somebody needs to step up and run against this guy that will do the job and do it the right way and represent us and worry about what's going on.โ
In May, the Texas House overwhelminglyย voted to remove Paxton from office over allegations that he misused his office and accepted bribes. (RELATED: GOP Panel Recommends Impeaching Texas AG Ken Paxton)
However, earlier this month the Texas Senate voted to acquit the Republican lawmakers and Paxton returned to office this week. He still faces a felony fraud case and a federal investigation.

I hope this message reaches Ken Paxton. As a Texas, I’ll vote for him in a split second.
